Now you can see Verdi's grand opera from the Metropolitan in New York in cinemas in Sweden. Live at the cinema and Studio Acusticum on January 25.   Set in ancient Egypt and a performance filled with magnificent choruses, this opera is based on an intimate love story. Few operas have matched Aida in its exploration of the conflict between private feelings and public duty, and perhaps none has been so unanimously acclaimed by both audiences and critics to this day. Aida premiered at the Khedivial Opera House in Cairo in 1871. American soprano Angel Blue stars as the Ethiopian princess torn between love and motherland in a new production of Verdi's Aida by Michael Mayer. It transports audiences into the towering pyramids and gilded tombs of ancient Egypt with intricate projections and dazzling animations. The Romanian-Hungarian mezzo-soprano Judit Kutasi plays Aida's rival, Amneris, together with the Polish tenor Piotr Beczała as the soldier Radamès – thus completing the opera's greatest love triangle. Met Principal Conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin will take the baton for the Jan. 25 performance, which will be broadcast live from the Metropolitan Opera's stage to movie theaters worldwide.   About 3 hours 38 minutes incl. 1 breakStudio Acusticum, Stora salenContactinfo@studioacusticum.com

But forget the clichés – this is something bigger. A story about infinity, movement, and the only constant in life: change.   With her soulful voice and her constant search for new expressions, Isabella Lundgren takes us on a musical journey that not only touches, but also challenges.   I want to create something that goes beyond the expected, something I can't do in my sleep, says Isabella about the collaboration with Norrbotten Big Band.     She is no stranger to big bands - she has played with several orchestral constellations in the past - but together with the band's artistic director Joakim Milder, she wants to break new ground. Together they explore themes such as human uncertainty and our search for meaning, inspired by the thoughts of poet Rainer Maria Rilke:   Learning to love the questions more than the answers, as Isabella puts it.   Together with the Norrbotten Big Band, Isabella Lundgren offers a concert that combines history, depth and freedom. Everything can be found here – from melancholy to hope, from tradition to innovation.   Don't miss this exciting meeting about the movements of life and the infinite power of music!   Included in Jazzfeeling 2025.Studio Acusticum, Black BoxContactinfo@studioacusticum.com

Lägg i kalender2025-03-29 18:002025-03-29Europe/StockholmArctic Light - Circles and ReflectionsArctic Light 20 years - celebrating with anniversary concert Arctic Light celebrates 20 years as a vocal ensemble with the colorful and emotional anniversary concert Circles and Reflections. For two decades, Arctic Light - the choir for girls aged 16-25 - has brightened our musical lives with their sets and their music. To celebrate the first 20 years, the performance Circles and Reflections is now presented - where the ensemble remembers the past but at the same time looks towards the future. - The idea of this anniversary concert is to close the circle a little and reflect what we have done during these years. It becomes like a simple reflection, says the composer, choir director and artistic director Susanna Lindmark. It was she who founded Arctic Light in 2004 with the main aim of raising the strength of female artistic practitioners and making visible the potential and power of the young choir members. But she also wanted to make Norrbotten visible, which she has taken note of in the music she creates for the choir, as well as in expressions, choreography, costumes and sets. Arctic Light's unique sound and artistic expression can be described as shimmering and clear, but also powerful and emotional. One of the choir's signature pieces is Aurora Borealis, the first piece Susanna Lindmark wrote. It will of course be performed during the anniversary concert. But new music is also on offer. Partly from the Norwegian composer Kim André Arnesen and his Spirits of Winter, partly from the Scanian composer Linda Alexandersson and her Three Sisters. In addition, Susanna Lindmark has composed two new works for the anniversary – Circles and reflections and September morning in Gerggevagge. - The music I have written has its roots in Norrbotten and our part of the world. Then I think of natural phenomena such as the midnight sun, the northern lights, natural scenes and landscape images. It is a core of the concert. But Arctic Light has also always had a folk musical tone from other parts of the world. That will be the case this time too, with music from the Middle East and India, among other things, says Susanna. The concert will consist of two acts, with an intermission in the middle. Performers are the 21 current choir members, but during some selected pieces they will also be joined on stage by around thirty former members. In addition, the choir is supported by four musicians. - I am very proud and happy about all the fantastic meetings during these 20 years, all the experiences, scenic projects and the driving art that we have created. It has been an incredibly exciting journey, that as a leader getting to see each individual develop and grow both musically, personally and socially is a favour. I also think it is important that there are still forums for young girls where you can grow strong from the inside out, through the artistic, says Susanna Lindmark. The anniversary concert Circles and Reflections will be performed at Studio Acusticum on March 25 in 2025, but the plan is then a tour around Norrbotten in 2025.Studio Acusticum, Stora salenContactinfo@studioacusticum.com

On April 26, this timeless comedy returns to theaters worldwide with a live broadcast from the Metropolitan Opera. The Marriage of Figaro is a meeting between Mozart's musical highlights and one of the best librettos ever created. Adapting a play that created a scandal with its revolutionary approach to 18th-century society, librettist Lorenzo Da Ponte focused less on the original references and more on the timeless issues embedded in everyday comedy. The Marriage of Figaro premiered at the Burgtheater in Vienna in 1786.   Conductor Joana Mallwitz makes her Met debut and takes the baton to lead a brilliant ensemble. The American bass-baritone Michael Sumuel is the sly servant Figaro and the Ukrainian soprano Olga Kulchynska the cunning servant Susanna. Canadian baritone Joshua Hopkins the womanizing count, Italian soprano Federica Lombardi his tormented wife and French mezzo-soprano Marianne Crebassa the young page Cherubino.   About 3 hours and 55 minutes incl. 1 breakStudio Acusticum, Stora salenContactinfo@studioacusticum.com

The Metropolitan's music director Yannick Nézet-Séguin will take the conductor's baton on May 17 to lead this one-act play, which will be broadcast live in cinemas in Sweden.   At the helm of the Met's first new production of Salome in 20 years, we have Claus Guth, one of Europe's leading opera directors, placing the biblical story in a psychologically astute Victorian setting. This powerful opera derives from a biblical story: a young princess from Judea dances for her stepfather Herod and chooses as a reward the head of the prophet John the Baptist. This theme attracted the imaginations of many artists, but was perhaps best realized in Oscar Wilde's tragedy of 1891. Strauss's score combines the grandeur of Wagner's epic works with the focus and emotional power of the short Italian verismo operas. Salome premiered at the Dresden Court Opera in 1905.   South African soprano Elza van den Heever stars as the unbalanced anti-heroine Salome, with Swedish baritone Peter Mattei as the imprisoned prophet Jochanaan. German tenor Gerhard Siegel is Salome's unpleasant stepfather King Herod, American mezzo-soprano Michelle DeYoung plays his wife Herodias, and Polish tenor Piotr Buszewski is Narraboth. The lively humor and elegant melodies have delighted audiences of every generation for two centuries. Several of opera's most recognizable melodies have become a large part of the opera world. The Barber of Seville premiered at the Teatro Argentina in Rome in 1816. Russian mezzo-soprano Aigul Akhmetshina stars as the temperamental heroine Rosina alongside American tenor Jack Swanson as her secret lover Count Almaviva.
