That organ still exists and was restored in Tornedalen: the main body in Övertorneå and the back positive in Hietaniemi. The organ's mean-tempered tuning is excellent for repertoire from all over Europe written before Johann Sebastian Bach. The organ is often used in teaching and concerts by students and teachers. Lars Sjöstedt will give a concert on this organ on Friday evening.
Lars Sjöstedt's concert focuses on music by Sweelinck and his students, including Scheidt, Scheidemann, and the Düben brothers. On April 26, this timeless comedy returns to theaters worldwide with a live broadcast from the Metropolitan Opera. The Marriage of Figaro is a meeting between Mozart's musical highlights and one of the best librettos ever created. Adapting a play that created a scandal with its revolutionary approach to 18th-century society, librettist Lorenzo Da Ponte focused less on the original references and more on the timeless issues embedded in everyday comedy. The Marriage of Figaro premiered at the Burgtheater in Vienna in 1786.
Conductor Joana Mallwitz makes her Met debut and takes the baton to lead a brilliant ensemble. The American bass-baritone Michael Sumuel is the sly servant Figaro and the Ukrainian soprano Olga Kulchynska the cunning servant Susanna. For the general public, Samuel got his first breakthrough with his participation in the TV program Så ska det låta, but it was topped to say the least by Samuel's participation at Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia's wedding, where he got all the royals dancing and clapping along during the march out. Samuel has also managed to, literally, floor gospel legend Kirk Franklin when he guested at Franklin's concert in the Globe a number of years ago.

In 2019, they released their semi-legendary self-titled debut album with music by Oja and lyrics by Christina Karlsson, Annika Norlin, Martin Abrahamsson and Mattias Alkberg. The album received rave reviews and has since only continued to cement its place as one of the best modern Swedish indie records.
In 2024, Honungsvägen is finally back both on stage and with new music, this autumn the band's long-awaited second album arrives. The single Ambush from within was released in May via Pygmalion Musik and is the first taste of what's to come.
About Dalmatia: Dalmatin is the indie band from Umeå that was united by the interest in songwriting. The band consists of the songwriters and producers Ville Isakson Jonsson, Karl Fjellborg and Ludvig Carlborg.
The trio debuted with the single Festival in October 2023, followed by the single Såna som oss will always lose. The singles led to the debut EP Dagarna & vällarna, which in January 2024 started the band's musical year. Since then, they have had time to rotate on P3, have been nominated for Breakthrough of the Year in the GAFFA award and played around Sweden to sold-out clubs. The music is inspired by acts such as Alvvays, Shout Out Louds and Markus Krunegård.
In May, the debut album Ansiktet i gruset was released via Roxy Recordings and this autumn they visit Piteå for the first time.

At the helm of the Met's first new production of Salome in 20 years, we have Claus Guth, one of Europe's leading opera directors, placing the biblical story in a psychologically astute Victorian setting. This powerful opera derives from a biblical story: a young princess from Judea dances for her stepfather Herod and chooses as a reward the head of the prophet John the Baptist. This theme attracted the imaginations of many artists, but was perhaps best realized in Oscar Wilde's tragedy of 1891. Strauss's score combines the grandeur of Wagner's epic works with the focus and emotional power of the short Italian verismo operas. Salome premiered at the Dresden Court Opera in 1905.
South African soprano Elza van den Heever stars as the unbalanced anti-heroine Salome, with Swedish baritone Peter Mattei as the imprisoned prophet Jochanaan. Rossini's well-honed treasure survived a notoriously disastrous opening night in 1816 to become what is perhaps the world's most popular comic opera. The lively humor and elegant melodies have delighted audiences of every generation for two centuries. Several of opera's most recognizable melodies have become a large part of the opera world. The Barber of Seville premiered at the Teatro Argentina in Rome in 1816. Russian mezzo-soprano Aigul Akhmetshina stars as the temperamental heroine Rosina alongside American tenor Jack Swanson as her secret lover Count Almaviva. Moldavian baritone Andrey Zhilikhovsky plays Figaro, the genial barber from Seville, with Hungarian bass-baritone Peter Kálmán as Dr. Bartolo. Russian bass Alexander Vinogradov is Don Basilio, completing the main ensemble. Giacomo Sagripanti conducts Bartlett Sher's wild production.

This outstanding trio consists of: Martin Fröst (clarinet) – The world's foremost clarinetist, known for his technical brilliance and emotional depth. Martin is the first clarinetist to be awarded the prestigious Léonie Sonning Music Prize and has also been named Artist in Residence at Amsterdam's legendary Concertgebouw Orchestra for the 2022/23 season. In 2016, his life changed when he received threats after writing a song about the situation with high unemployment and corruption in Zimbabwe.
The situation became so serious that Cris had to flee for his life, while his wife and two sons stayed behind. Today, Cris lives in Piteå, where he is happily reunited with his family. In 2018, his single Piteå för alla – Cris' låt was released to pay tribute to the city that welcomed him. The song became the Song of the Week on Sveriges Radio P4 Norrbotten.. With my music, I want to celebrate the differences between us humans and create a dialogue between the audience and me as an artist.
At the concert, he accompanies himself on the piano in a mixed program with his own and other people's songs.

The High Society is a unique musical experience that unites three of Sweden's most prominent artists in Swedish musical and performing arts; Rennie Mirro, Karl Dyall and Joachim Bergström. The trio are without a doubt, each one of our foremost in Swedish showbiz, known for their versatility as dancers, actors and singers, with broad experience in jazz, soul, ballet, street, opera, theater and musicals, their entertainment reputation is endless. With a repertoire that ranges from timeless classics to modern blockbuster hits, they create a dynamic and engaging experience that captivates the audience and leaves a lasting impression.
Back in 2012, Rennie Mirro and Karl Dyall did the legendary show From Sammy with love which became a huge success, loved and celebrated by both audience and press with a grand finale at the very Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York. The High Society now wants to pay tribute to this iconic entertainer with a string of his greatest hits. We want to share all the fantastic stories we've heard about Sammy Davis Jr, but also tell you what he has meant to us on a personal level, say Rennie Mirro, Karl Dyall and Joachim Bergström.
Sammy Davis Jr. (1925-1990) was one of the world's greatest entertainers and was called Mister Show Business and Mr Entertainment. He was a singer, dancer, actor and comedian, the superstar of the entertainment world. He was the star of shows on Broadway, in Las Vegas and in London's West End, appeared in numerous television shows and Hollywood films. All this during a time in the United States that was characterized by segregation and discrimination against blacks. His artistry paved the way for other black artists and musicians. He was best friends with Frank Sinatra and created a big scandal when he married May Britt Wilkens from Stockholm. But despite all his success, he always felt left out.

Tingsek, or Magnus Tingsek, has since his debut as a 27-year-old released seven albums that combine elements of gospel, soul, jazz and Swedish lyric. His latest album, Home, opens with the rhythmic sound of a Scanian pigeon and reflects his journey towards finding home, both geographically and spiritually. The lead track "Family" expresses his deep love for family and captures a feeling of warmth and closeness.
After a celebrated participation in Norrbotten Big Band's annual concert Soulful December 2019, a continued collaboration has been long-awaited. Now Tingsek's unique sound is combined with the big band's energy in a project where the music has been arranged by, among others, Norrbotten Big Band's artistic director, Joakim Milder.

It's about paving the way for new ways of thinking and creating something really exciting together with the musicians, says the big band's artistic director, Joakim Milder.
Karmen Rõivassepp, an Estonian singer, composer and arranger, has already made a strong impression on the Scandinavian jazz scene.
Before the project, Karmen and the orchestra meet on three occasions to develop ideas and create music that makes both the collective and the individual grow. For Karmen, this is a dream opportunity: - To be able to work with an orchestra like this and in this way is a dream for any artist, she says.
