Swedish for Immigrants, SFI, is a basic education in the Swedish language for adults.
All immigrants from age 16 without basic skills in the Swedish language, who are registered in the municipality, are entitled to participate in SFI.
If you are under 20, you are primarily referred to the language introduction program of the upper secondary school (Strömbackaskolan).
SFI studies are free of charge and can be combined with other courses or a part-time job. SFI studies do not qualify for student aid.
Courses
You will be placed in the correct course depending on your former studies and your current knowledge of Swedish. After each completed course you get a certificate.

Full time studies
Full time studies include 15 hours of class per week, Monday through Friday.
Hours may vary, but you start no earlier than 8:30 AM and finish no later than 3:30 PM.
You will receive your schedule during your first week of school.
